Safee Sali sets the bar high

It is understood that Safee Sali has agreed to sign a contract and play for Persib Bandung FC in the obviously stronger Indonesian League.

Now it is only a matter of the Selangor FA agreeing terms with the Indonesian club and if its done, Safee will be trying his skills in a more competitive league and this move will definitely be beneficial in many aspects

First of all, this will set an example to all other Malaysian players that moving abroad to another league is actually a good idea. Akhmal Rizal did it some time ago but his move did not materialise and some of the reasons given behind his decision to return is home-sickness. If Cristiano Ronaldo suffered homesickness at Manchester, he wouldn't have been voted the best player in 2008. If Lionel Messi, who is from Argentina was homesick at the Nou Camp, he wouldn't have been Barcelona's main man. It takes sacrifice in orfer to reach success. Thats what Safee and other players should keep in their mind.

Safee's move will also benefit the national team. How longer do we see our national players being stuck in the Malaysian League cage? Get out and gain experience if you get the chance. That should be the message imposed by the government. This chance for Safee will be beneficial to the improvement of his game standards. He will be up against tougher and stronger players and if i am not mistaken, Persib Bandung do compete in the AFC Cup as well.

All in all, this is one wise move that i believe should set and example for the rest of the national players. Good luck Safee. I shall pray that your move there materialises.
