Time to prove to the critics for Malaysia

The Malaysian football contingent got a battering from all Malaysians after their embarassing defeat in the hands of rivals, Indonesia. BUt since then, Malaysia have drew with Thailand and beat Laos 5-1 and unexpectedly qualified for the semi-final.

BUt now, its time to prove to all the critics and beat Vietnam to advance to the finals. The semi-final will be played over two-legs. One on the 15th, the other on the 18th.

What remains to be seen is whether Malaysia can hold their feet to the ground after trashing Laos, which i feel K. Rajagopal will stress on. By the way, Malaysia weren't very convincing in the game against Laos especially in the first half. Laos looked more composed on the ball and Malaysia were quite nervous when they had the ball, making silly mistakes. But, Laos lacked cutting edge in the final third of the pitch and that cost them dearly as Malaysians did something very well on the night, Taking their chances.

But now its time for Vietnam who have also been impressive in the tournament so far. They trashed Myanmar 7-1 on mathcday 1.

Player to watch for Malaysia
AMIRULHADI ZAINAL.
I felt amirulhadi was the player who changed the game for Malaysia against Laos. He replaced Kyril Muhymeen in the first half, and made an instant impact, combining with Amri Yahyah only to see him being flagged offside. He went on to score a goal in that game. I believe that if Myanmar fail to mark him, it could be a good night for Amirulhadi and Malaysia

Player to watch for Vietnam
Trong Hoang Nguyen
Nguyen has been impressive so far in the tournament. The flamboyant striker score two goals in the game againt Myanmar and has been giving defenders headache in the tournament so far. So, it will be absolutely vital for the Malaysian defenders to mark him properly and not allow him any space.

In conclusion, it could be a night to remember for Malaysia or even a disaster. The fundamental part is that, the team has to stick together and focus on the game.

MALAYSIA BOLEH!

Clarification - Thrash is to whack, trash is garbage.

When someone is trashed, he is dismissed as garbage. While some of our journalists may be so crude, I don't think our team would have trashed anyone. Thrashed them, yes.
