Ever since Barcelona won the Champions League in Rome, people have been talking about how the La Liga was the best league in the world and bla bla bla.

To be frank, there is no point in comparing a two-team league with a league that gives you shocks every week.

Five years ago, 11 of the top 23 players in the Ballon d'Or voting plied their trade in England. This year we have just three, of whom one - Asamoah Gyan - spent most of the year in France, has scored one goal for Sunderland and doesn't deserve to be on the list anyway.

La Liga has 11 representatives, while the Bundesliga (five) and Serie A (four) also beat the Premier League.

This statistics sent the whole world in mad in pronouncing the La Liga as the best league in the world. But Ladies and Gentlemen, that is so not true.

The contenders for the Ballon d'Or came from a narrow choice of clubs. 19 out of the 23 played for only 4 teams; Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich. Can you imagine that?

And why those 4 clubs are the only ones? Because they are the ones who had a good year because the La Liga is all about two teams. Real Madrid and Barcelona. They might have the best players but watching only two teams compete for the title every season doesn't represent the best league in the world.

In contrast, the Premier League offers a better package of action, entertainment and passion. The Barclays Premier League has brought football to a whole new level.

The past two days have been significant proofs to why Premier League always reigns supreme. The so called revitalised AC Milan has no answer at all to the pace and precision of Tottenham Hotspurs. Absolutely no answer. Therefore, i pronounce that comparing the Premier League with the Serie A is an act of stupidity.

We all saw how the team that sits fourth in the Premier League embarrassed the kings of Serie A. The fact is that, Italian football is at its worse state for the past 3 to 4 years. It's only a place for beats like Gattuso i suppose.

Better still, Arsenal proved a massive amount of things last night. First, Barcelona aren't as invincible as people thought. Second, a team doesn't need to abandon their style of game just because they are facing Barcelona. Third, you do not need to be afraid of losing if you have possession. The list simply goes on.

La Liga has been a growing business over the past few years with teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona really setting the standards high.

Yet La Liga's all-conquering duopoly comes at the considerable cost of competitive balance. Valencia are what passes for a third power in Spain, but simply cannot keep up.

They finished a distant third last season, 25 points behind second-placed Real Madrid. They were so far adrift, they needed binoculars to see the top two.

And what happened over the summer? Valencia lost their two best players, one of them to Barcelona, while the big two strengthened yet again.

If these situations progress further, we can see the La Liga evolving into a boring league, pretty much like what the Scottish league is now. A league influenced by only Barcelona and Real Madrid will one day look exactly like the pathetic Scottish League influenced by Rangers and Celtic.

Even though tackling is fairly robust in England, last season the Premier League saw the least fouls and yellow cards of any of the 'Big Five' leagues.

Spain averaged a massive 5.08 yellow cards and 0.39 reds per game, compared with 3.17 yellows and 0.18 reds in England.

The obvious conclusion? There are fewer stoppages in the Premier League, where refs let the game run, and more games end with 22 players on the pitch.

English football might not have the tactical genius aspect of Guardiola and Mourinho for people who love intellectual challenge but i believe that football is all about passion, entertainment and action above everything else.

That's why the Premier League is simply the best league in the world.

Manchester United Vs Arsenal : Gunners Suffocated.

What were Manchester United last night? Yes, the were undoubtedly warriors. They stepped into the battlefield with a big heart and huge belief that they can reign supreme. They stood to their task and drew first blood with Park Ji Sung, and most importantly, they gave their fans one hell of a performance as they literally suffocated Arsenal's every single attack.

There simply wasn't going to be a way for Arsenal to split Manchester United's defensive set-up yesterday. It was just strong and even more solid than the Great Wall of China. It was close to perfection.

Every player played exceptionally well in their respective positions. No wbnder Sir Alex was very eager to get Ferdinand back on the team and he proved his credentials by forming a rock-solid partnership with Vidic last night. The Captain Vidic was equally marvelous. Every long ball drawn in to the box seem to be attracted to Ferdinand'd and Vidic's head and even the aerial threat of Marouane Chamakh couldn't do anything except a few tame attempts on goal which did not trouble Edwin Van Der Sar.

Patrice Evra was simply magnificent last night. He was all fired up on the left flank. One moment he was down defending, the next moment he was up attacking. Rafael was another player who deserves credit. He kept Arshavin at bay for most of the game and even the Russian knew he had to cut inside to have any opportunity of making an impact as Rafael was almost impermeable.

Park Ji sung, what else do we need to say about him. Once again, he rose to the occasion fantastically. he showed the world why Sir Alex rates him very highly. Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher were also quite solid in the midfield, limiting Arsenal's attacks. Nani and Anderson were quite fantastic as well, attacking with pace and defending with agility. Rooney was hardworking as well and even though he did miss a penalty, i though he was a headache for Koscielny and Squillachi all the time.

The pre-match discussions were buzzing about Samir Nasri's form and how he has the ability to tear United's defences apart. But, he was literally missing from action as well apart from some mazy runs and a couple of shots. He played on the right, Evra shut him down. he came to the centre, Fletcher was there all the time under his nose. He came to the left, Rafael was equally impressive as well in blocking him. He was a frustrated figure last night.

It might not have been a brilliant attacking performance from Manchester United but it was a showcase of how well the Devils play as a team collectively. Simply terrific.

Sir Alex caused some shocks by playing with a five-man midfield and left the on-form Dimitar Berbatov on the bench. But his tactics were spot on as again, United suffocated Arsenal with a tight compact midfield and defence.

So, with the all important victory last night, United are now 2 points clear of Arsenal and 3 points ahead of Chelsea with a game in hand. Manchester United can look forward to another giant clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and if United win that game and win the game in hand, they could even be 9 points ahead of the defending champions come February. Something Sir Alex would definitely want.
